Marsha Warner MS
Founder, Career Factors
My career is dedicated to understanding the role of meaningful work in creating a purposeful, authentic life. I work with clients as both a career coach and a full-cycle recruiter. My background in Human Resources and talent management adds the perspective from both the job seekers and the hiring organizations perspective.
As career coach I work with individuals across a broad spectrum of backgrounds, professions, cultures, experience, and organizational level. I think my collaborative approach allows clients to identify the components of a career that create greater professional fulfillment. I coach clients to understand their unique skills, aptitudes, values, strengths, interests, and life purpose, and then helps them communicate their unique value to the hiring company through clear communication and branded, focused marketing. I help people identify the values they stand for and then create a brand that expresses the value they bring. My humor and calm demeanor allow clients to feel empowered in identifying their hopes and ambitions. My approach is practical, authentic, and results driven.
A graduate of the University of Oregon, I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling, with a concentration in career counseling, and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I earned an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification from the Society of Human Resources Management in 2003.
My passion for career coaching began years ago. I’ve always been fascinated by what jobs people choose and why. What motivates us to gravitate toward a particular life work over another?
It has been my delight to work with hundreds of clients as their career coach. I’ve also functioned as the HR leader, talent acquisition specialist and recruiter in many industries, so from that experience, I draw knowledge of what companies look for, how to communicate competencies, skills, accomplishments and ambition to an employer. And how to craft a career life that brings rewards, meaning and delight to life.
I had the pleasure of working with Marsha after I was laid off unexpectedly. During our time together, she provided valuable advice on how to best respond to a highly competitive job market, particularly emphasizing the importance of networking. Although I was in the job market for only a short time, I still follow her advice and continue to build my network. Thank you, Marsha!
After our first phone call, I knew that Marsha Warner was going to change my life, and I was right! By helping me to envision my ideal work situation, identify the gaps in a current job, create an intention around change, and walk a path toward that, Marsha was a HUGE part of me taking the next step in my career. I whole-heartedly recommend her as a career coach.
Marsha was referred to me by a mutual friend, as I was seeking a career coach to help me analyze my own strengths and weaknesses, and to fine tune my search for suitable career paths. From my first phone call with Marsha, I knew I found someone that would be easy to work with. She has since helped me develop new levels of confidence, find a new job, and perhaps most importantly, spend time introspectively in order to better myself! Thank you Marsha for all you have done, and will continue to do.
I want to thank you for all your help. I know I wouldn't be at this point without your coaching and guidance. You truly are a blessing!
Marsha is very experienced and professional in her abilities as a career coach. She has been invaluable in helping get my resume freshened up and knows exactly what recruiters are looking for when reviewing a stack of resumes. She knows her stuff! Along with her deeply developed skills, she is a coach, motivator, teacher and a wonderful warm hearted individual.
